Angela Johnson

What is your favorite native plant?

Spiderwort (Tradescantia virginiana)

Angela is the founder and partner of Belladonna Plant Care and serves on the board of the Native Plant Society. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to native ecosystems and the communities they support. Inspired by prairie-style design, Angela brings a thoughtful, ecological lens to every project. Outside of work, she enjoys a good cup of coffee and walks in the woods in search of native ground covers. Through Belladonna, she strives to cultivate not just landscapes, but lasting partnerships grounded in respect for the natural world.

Lucille ‘Luci’ Stephenson

Partner

Luci is a partner at Belladonna Plant Care with a background in research, having earned her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she is still based. She brings an analytical lens and thoughtful curiosity to her work, with a particular interest in xeriscape gardening and a coastal modern aesthetic. Luci is passionate about integrating native plants into everyday landscapes and finds joy in the research that supports resilient, place-based design. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her at the beach with a book in hand or tending her own garden alongside her chickens.

What is your favorite wild animal?

Literally any native bird, maybe a laughing gull. Actually, a laughing gull.

Elizabeth ‘Beth Ann’ Fogal

Communications & Design

Beth Ann leads communications and marketing at Belladonna Plant Care while pursuing her degree in horticulture, with a focus on seed studies and cut flower gardens. She serves as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication throughout each project while helping organize and support the team behind the scenes. With a background in floral design, she brings a creative eye and a love of working with stems, texture, and seasonal blooms to everything she does. When she’s not crafting content or studying plants, you’ll likely find her rock climbing or enjoying a sunny day with her cat, Agnes.

Yvette Robinson

Partner/Ornamental Consultant

Yvette Robinson is a partner at Belladonna Plant Care and a legacy gardener with more than 40 years of hands-on experience. Deeply knowledgeable in ornamental plants, seasonal timing, and thoughtful plant selection, she brings both intuition and expertise to every landscape. Yvette is often the team’s go-to for even the trickiest plant questions and generously shares new maintenance techniques that strengthen the entire crew’s craft. When she’s not in the garden, you’ll likely find her cooking a beautiful meal and spending time with her dog, Nico.
